How your case works
From the first call to the final result
Every case is different, but the path is predictable. Here is what working with us looks like.
Step 1: Free consultation
Call or send the form. A lawyer, not a call center, listens to what happened and tells you honestly whether we can help.
Step 2: We gather the facts
For an injury, we collect police reports, photos, medical records, and insurance policies. For a family matter, we gather financial records and the details that matter to the court.
Step 3: A plan you understand
We explain your options in plain English or Spanish, what each one is likely to involve, and the timeline to expect.
Step 4: Negotiate or mediate
Most matters resolve through negotiation with insurers or mediation between spouses. We prepare every case as if it will not.
Step 5: Court, if it comes to that
When an agreement is not fair, we file, argue, and try your case. You will know what to expect before every hearing.

Steady guidance through divorce and custody
Family cases are personal. Laura Reyes and our family law team take time to understand what matters most to you, whether that is a fair parenting schedule, keeping the house, or simply getting through the process without a public fight.
Where it is safe and sensible, we resolve matters through negotiation and mediation. When it is not, we are prepared to stand up for you and your children in court.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers to what people ask us most. For advice about your situation, call for a free consultation.
What does a consultation cost?
Nothing. Your first consultation is free, whether your question is about an injury or a family matter. If we can help, we will explain our fee arrangement in writing before you decide anything.
Do I have a case?
That is exactly what the free consultation is for. In an injury matter we look at who was at fault, how you were hurt, and what insurance applies. In a family matter we look at what you want to happen and what the court will consider. Either way, you leave knowing your options.
How long will my case take?
It depends on the facts. Many injury claims resolve once treatment is complete and the full cost of the injury is known; some go to trial. An uncontested divorce can finish in a few months, while a contested custody case can take longer. We give you a realistic timeline at the start and keep you updated.
Is there a deadline to file?
Yes. Injury claims have strict filing deadlines, and claims against a city, county, or state agency can require written notice within a short time. Call us as soon as you can so a deadline does not decide your case for you.
Do you speak Spanish?
Sí. Laura Reyes, Hannah Brooks, and several members of our staff speak Spanish, and you can reach a Spanish-speaking team member directly at (410) 555-0188.
Can I meet with you outside office hours?
Yes. We hold evening appointments on weekdays and can meet by video. If you are in the hospital or cannot travel after an accident, a member of our team can come to you.
